Responsibilities include: Responsibilities and Tasks:
The Director of Services manages and provides leadership to the direct service delivery part of the organisation ensuring that high quality services for children, young people and families are delivered in line with the YAP ethos. This includes managing the service manager team, setting and implementing the strategic direction of services to young people and families, member of the
executive management team and attendance at the Board, the negotiation of new services, policy and strategic development, financial management, representing the organisation to funders and in the public domain and deputising for the CEO.
Specific Tasks include:
• Lead and manage the delivery of high-quality services to children, young people and families in line with the YAP model and strategic plan, in partnership with the executive team.
• Be responsible for the service managers team in delivery of targets, quality of services, policy implementation, financial prudence etc.,
• Be accountable for ensuring a consistent service is delivered nationally, ensuring that staff and advocates are appropriately skilled with the necessary training, policies, procedures, systems and support.
• Be responsible with the CEO and executive team for setting the strategic direction of YAP Ireland and implementation of the strategic plan.
• Facilitate and participate in a Board committee and present regular updates to the Board.
• Take a lead role in the Executive and Senior Management Teams.
• Be responsible for developing tenders, service level agreements and proposals for funding of current and new services in line with the YAP ethos and strategic plan.
• Be responsible for ensuring that services are delivered within budget and that all financial systems are implemented appropriately in line with YAP Policies and Procedures.
• Be responsible for the review and implementation of HR, Health and Safety, Child and Adult Safeguarding, Data Protection, YAP Ireland Policies and Procedures and Legislative requirements in partnership with the Director of Operations and the executive team.
• Ensure best practice is adopted within YAP Ireland and services are delivered in line with service level agreements and funder requirements.
• Influence the government, funders and the public in line with the YAP ethos to ensure a better understanding of the needs and strengths of the client group.
• Represent YAP Ireland at a senior level on external policy forums, working groups, committees etc.,
• Develop and deliver the communications and fundraising strategy in partnership with the executive team.
• Ensure that research commitments are met, both in house and externally, and used to improve and develop services and influence policy within YAP Ireland and across society.
• Lead on the participation strategy of YAP Ireland ensuring that the voices of young people, families and other stakeholders are an integral part of the service.
• Adhere to all YAP Ireland Policies and Procedures, Health and Safety Policy and Code of Conduct.
• Deputise for the CEO as required.
Criteria:
· Essential:
Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Social Work, Youth and Community, Social Science, Child Care, Psychology, Child Psychology, etc,
Experience – At least five years previous experience in leading and managing the delivery of children and families
services at a senior management level
Five years’ experience of service and policy development including Human Resources, Health and
Safety, Child and Adult Safeguarding, Quality Assurance etc.,
Three years’ experience of completing funding applications, tenders and proposals.
Three years’ experience of budget setting and prudent financial management
A proven track record in strategic management and public representation of the organisation
Skills – Exemplary communication and Leadership skills. Excellent organisational and strategic ability. Excellent time and change management skills. Ability to be creative, innovative and dynamic. Ability to prioritise tasks and meet targets set. Ability to motivate and lead staff. Ability to make decisions and implement change
· Desirable:
Qualifications – Post-graduate qualification in one of the above-listed fields.
Certificate or qualification in Management, Leadership, Project Management or related field
Salary: €76,378
