Job Location: 2/3 Lurgan Street, Dublin 7
Responsibilities include:
- The Project Worker will contribute to the planning and evaluation of individualised care programs based on needs identified.
- To contribute to the promotion, creation and maintenance of a welcoming and caring environment with high standards of social care practice.
- To ensure the rights and responsibilities of young people are respected and promoted.
- To provide a positive life experience for the young people in all aspects of their care and welfare.
- To advise the team and manager of any accidents, incidents, complaints or concerns as they arise and to provide written reports.
- To deliver a stable, safe, clean and comfortable living and working environment for the young people and staff in the unit.
- Support the safe and healthy functioning of each building to ensure the safety of and the young people in that building, procedures relating to fire safety, hazard management, building checks, and management of challenging behaviour.
- To take on and support key worker responsibilities as required, prepare written reports for reviews and case conferences.
- In conjunction with the Aftercare Manager, contribute to the ongoing development of the service in keeping with good practice, Tusla, HIQA requirements and Company objectives.
- An aptitude to carry out risk assessment, periodic reviews and progress reports.
- To undertake all domestic duties require as requested by the manager.
Criteria:
- Essential:
- A recognised third level qualification in social care/social studies.
- Experience of supporting young people or individuals more vulnerable in society.
- Working knowledge of HIQA, Tusla, National Standards for Residential Services.
- Desirable:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good leadership, facilitation and group work skills.
- Ability to plan, implement and evaluate programmes based on emerging needs.
- Proficient administration, time management and report writing skills.
- IT skills including Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook
- Excellent teamwork experience.
- Experience working within a residential & team environment.
- Working knowledge of issues facing young people leaving care.
- Committed to being positive & flexible with a passion for working with young adults.
