Job Details

Centre manager position with a 2-year established accommodation centre. Office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 2pm Saturday and Sunday (1 in 4 sometimes 1 in 3 weekend work). 40 hours per week approximately.

The Accommodation Centres are regulated by HIQA and all our employees follow the National Standards for Accommodation Centres providing services to those seeking International Protection.

The centres are family centres with the majority of residents being children.

 

 

Job Title: Centre Manager

Job Location: Borrisokane, Co Tipperary and Limerick City.

Responsibilities include:

  • Be responsible for the wellbeing of the residents;
  • Develop and implement the Integration Plan for residents;
  • Identify and support vulnerable residents;
  • Identify, contact and reach out to the local community via local GPs,

schools and colleges, charities and volunteer organisation. Citizen Information, local churches and leaders in the local community as well as community sporting organisations like the local GAA clubs to establish lines of communication and services that they may provide and aid in bringing those services to the residents.

  • Identify, contact and reach out on a national level to non-Governmental organisation such as the Red Cross, Immigrant Council of Ireland, Irish Refugee Council, Women’s Aid, IOM Ireland, Spirasi and Migrants Rights Centre .
  • Be proactive for resident needs, queries, and complaints in a compassionate, respectful and dignified manner.
  • Signpost and /or make referrals, as appropriate, to other services.
  • Maintain an excellent working relationship with IPAS Resident Welfare Team.
  • Commit to training and development on a continual basis.
  • Commit to and implement the National Standards.
  • The daily, weekly and monthly administrative responsibilities in addition to the above.

 

 

Criteria:

  • Essential: Enthusiastic, self-motivated, excellent communication skills and desire to work with vulnerable people. Available for on call emergencies outside of office hours.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in residential care, social care settings, teaching or relatable work experiences.

Qualification: Social Care Qualification preferable however the following qualifications are also accepted:

  • Level 8 in Psychology
  • Level 7 in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Level 7 n Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Level 7 in Addiction Counselling
  • Level 7 in Youth or Community or similar
  • Level 7 in Social Science
  • Level 7 in Family Support
  • Professional Qualification in Teaching (not TEFL)
  • Professional Qualification in Nursing Studies
  • Level 7 in ABA
  • Level 7 in Disability Studies
  • BA of Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service)
  • Social Care Worker: 2 years post qualification desirable

 

Salary: Hourly rate €20 per hour increasing to €30 per hour after 6 months’ probation period.

Benefits: After probation period, health insurance, pension employers contribution 2%. 20 days paid holidays or 8% of hours worked.
