Development Officer for PWSAI

Prader-Willi Syndrome Association Ireland (PWSAI) have just begun advertising a new position of Development Officer, which they believe may be of interest to social care workers.

This is a new role which offers the successful candidate an opportunity to learn and develop within the position. This service development position needs to establish a sustainable foundation from which future PWS education, awareness and training programs and services provision can develop.

In addition, this role will provide advocacy for and delivery of key PWSAI priorities.

Current key priorities are:

  • Development of appropriate Respite and Residential provision for persons with PWS. 
  • Access to appropriate Mental Health Services for persons with PWS. Identify, engage and develop relationships with key stakeholders to establish a network of appropriate expertise to deal with PWS complexities.
  • Organise and deliver a variety of training and awareness programmes including workshops, training days, conferences for relevant stakeholders including but not confined to HSE disability managers, clinicians, social care providers, educators, intellectual disability organisations. 
  • Facilitate the provision of support to people with PWS and their families, through collaboration with HSE, Medical Professionals and Care Providers.
