This is an interdisciplinary event, Social Care Ireland are collaborating with the Association of Occupational Therapist of Ireland and the Irish Association of Social Work. We have worked jointly on similar events like Motivational Interviewing, that have been very successful. (SFBT) is an effective, respectful, and powerful tool for workers in the health and social care field.
Social Care Ireland in collaboration with the National Institute of Intellectual Disability Services (NIIDS) are facilitating this 7 day programme. Provide frontline staff with a framework for understanding and addressing the problems that arise when an individual has both intellectual disabilities and mental health difficulties and possibly a personality disorder. It provides staff with a range of creative strategies which they can use as effective approaches.

This is a collaborative one-day workshop between Social Care Ireland and the Irish Association of Social Work. With this in mind it has been designed for those who have come to realise that that the ‘wait and hope’ approach to navigating conflict is not effective. Instead, one can learn to proactively navigate conflict, ensuring that all voices are heard, and that the most workable and practical solution can be implemented.
This is an interdisciplinary event between Social Care Ireland and the Irish Association of Social Work. We attempt or avoid difficult conversations every day-whether dealing with an underperforming employee, disagreeing with a spouse, or negotiating with a client. Difficult conversations are anything that someone does not want to talk about, such as asking for a raise or complaining to a neighbour about his barking dog.

The aim of the course is to teach clinicians how to present 32 CBT and DBT informed skills to clients and to discuss the development, evidence base and theoretical underpinning of each skill. These skills enable clients to lead a more skillful, less impulsive life. The Decider Skills Manual contains 32 CBT & DBT skills for individuals and groups with mental health problems.

PETMA© is an Irish, human right based approach to supporting service users who may get verbally or physically distressed at times.
