The Health Information and Standards Directorate in HIQA has developed Draft National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres. The draft standards, which are based on national and international evidence, were developed with key stakeholders. They have been developed to improve the care and support provided to children in residential care. The standards will apply to all children’s residential centres and are a framework for best practice in providing child-centred, safe and effective care and support to children in residential care across Ireland.
We would like to hear your views on the draft standards, which are available for public consultation for a six-week period. We encourage all interested parties to provide feedback and become involved in the standards development process by submitting their views.

The public consultation will run until 5pm on Thursday 02 November 2017. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to accept late submissions.
