The Social Care in CAMHS SIG have had two very successful meetings so far in 2018. We have also been delighted to welcome David Durney (Chairperson of Social Care Ireland) and Charlotte Burke (CPD Officer SCI) to our table. With their support we are continuing our work to ensure Social Care has a voice in the development and delivery of Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services and we are excited to continue working in partnership with Social Care Ireland going forward.
Along with our many representatives who are constantly advocating on our behalf on various forums, we were honoured to have our outgoing Chairperson Leanne Turner representing us as a voice for Social Care in CAMHS as part of the Communication Improvement Project, which was completed by SpunOut, in conjunction with the HSE. Check out the videos on yourmentalhealth.ie/camhs or http://www.yourmentalhealth.ie/camhs/your-introduction/intro.html.
One of our main aims for this year is developing partnerships with the relevant colleges to promote and participate in the educational development of Social Care students and to promote and engage in ongoing research in the sector. Our educational sub-group are working away in the background on this and hopefully we will have some exciting updates soon.
You can find out more about us in the SIG section of the SCI website. Our next meeting will be in Athlone (Clonbrusk Primary Care Centre on Monday 25th June 2018 2-4pm
