Registrations now open for the Comhlámh Coming Home Weekend – ‘Sustaining Our Work’

The Comhlámh Coming Home Weekend will take place in Django Hostel in Cloughjordan eco-village on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June. This two-day residential retreat is open to people who have returned home after working/ volunteering in the Global South for three months or more. The HSE is an official supporter of the Comhlámh Code of Good Practice for Volunteer Sending Agencies.

The retreat will give participants time to reflect on time away, together with other returned volunteers and development workers. The weekend will be:

  • an opportunity for personal reflection on some of the challenges and highpoints of time spent overseas;
  • the chance to meet others who have had similar journeys and to collectively consider the impact of experiences;
  • a space to link overseas experience within your ongoing work for global development, sustaining your active engagement from Ireland.

This year, Comhlámh is very pleased to include a social event on Saturday evening to celebrate the summer solstice; during the weekend. The cost is 50 euro for Comhlámh members and 100 euro for non-members, and accommodation is on a shared basis.
