Deputy Social Care Manager: Thurles Tipperary €46,000
Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Social Care Managers to join a new Tusla service in Tipperary
which will deliver a trauma-informed model of care for young people aged between 13 & 17 years of age.
Reporting to the Social Care Manager the right candidate will encourage the development of positive
attachments through relationship building with the overall goal of providing a therapeutic environment for
children and young people. Meas Mor’s ethos is to make a lasting difference in the lives of children who

Job Overview:
● Create and maintain a safe, caring and stable environment for the young people
placed in the centre.
● Ensure that Care and Placement Plans are in place, agreed, implemented, and
monitored regularly in respect of every young person placed in the centre.
● Promote the rights and responsibilities of each young person in the centre.
● Ensure the appropriate use of resources within the centre.
● Consult with young people placed in the centre, and their families
● Provide an on-call service for the centre and for Children’s Residential Centres on a rota
basis.
● Maintain the budget for the centre, in compliance with approved budgetary
procedures.
● Supervise staff in the centre.
● Arrange the duty roster and manage the designated staff resources.
● Have a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA)
Standards
Job Requirements:
● Level 7 or 8 qualification in Social Care.
● Professional Qualification in teaching, social care, social work or youth work
● At least 3 years post qualifying experience in mainstream residential care.
● At least 3 years direct experience of working in and/or managing services to vulnerable
children and young people.
● Excellent communication and report writing skills.
● I.T Skills
● Full clean Irish drivers’ license which has been held for one year or more.

on experience
Job description:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Care Manager to join a new
Tusla service in Tipperary which will deliver a trauma-informed model of care for
young people aged between 13 & 17 years of age. Meas Mor’s ethos is to make a

environment to grow and develop.
The right candidate will be responsible for the upkeep of the Residential Centre,
Financial Management, Staff Management, and Health & Safety of the residential
centre.
Job Overview:
● Ensure that Care and Placement Plans are in place, agreed, implemented, and
monitored regularly in respect of every young person placed in the centre. ●

Your Experience:
● Social Care Work 1 year (preferred)
● Full Driving Licence (preferred)
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with
management and staff at all levels

● Self-Motivated/Self-Starter
Minimum Requirements:
● QQI Level 7 in Social Science / Social Studies / Social Care
● QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Child & Adolescent
Psychotherapy
● QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Counseling / Psychotherapy
● QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Addiction Counseling
● QQI Level 7 in Youth and Community or similar
● QQI Level 7 in Family Support
● BA in Applied Policing or equivalent
● Holder of Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service) or equivalent
● Eligible to register with CORU.
