New Beginnings was established in 2007 providing medium to long term placements to young people between 13-17 years. New Beginnings main objectives are:
· To provide a place of safety in a warm and caring home environment.
· To support educational placements and work opportunities.
· To support young people’s emotional, physical and spiritual needs.
· To support young people’s already identified goals and objectives.
· To support contact with friends, family and significant others.
New Beginnings currently have one unit providing care to vulnerable young people using the Relationship Model of Care and aim to give the young people in our care the best possible experience in the care system.
Positions: Social Care Worker Full Time and Relief Social Care Worker
Location: Kildare
Qualification: Social Care Qualification preferable however the following qualifications are also accepted:
Level 8 in Psychology
Level 7 in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Level 7 n Counselling and Psychotherapy
Level 7 in Addiction Counselling
Level 7 in Youth or Community or similar
Level 7 in Social Science
Level 7 in Family Support
Professional Qualification in Teaching (not TEFL)
Professional Qualification in Nursing Studies
Level 7 in ABA
Level 7 in Disability Studies
BA of Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service)
Level 6 in Social Care/Social Studies
Experience: Social Care Worker: 2 years post qualification desirable
Full Driver’s License essential
Salary: Commensurate to experience

Social Care Worker Position:
The role will involve working with young people providing a range of high-quality services working alongside a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of the young people. Interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to respond to challenging situations and new environments are a desirable quality. Flexibility is essential.
The candidate is required to have a Social Care qualification and two years post qualification experience is desirable.
The candidate will be required to work designated shifts as per the roster and as needed, including overnights, weekends and holidays.
The candidate will be familiar with all relevant legislation and policies pertaining to residential childcare.
The successful applicant will be subject to Garda Vetting and reference checking.
