This week in Our Health Service: The National HSCP Office

Music Therapist Catherine Sweeney Brown has taken up a one year residence in University Hospital Waterford with her audience and benefactors the babies in the Neonatal and Special Care Baby Unit.

One mum whose baby received several music therapy sessions during his two week stay in hospital says, “It’s wonderful – it calms the baby and it calms the mother. When there’s music on the ward the staff are more relaxed, it’s like everyone can breathe.”
