David Durney – CEO Freshstart/Director Newbeginnings

From 2003 to 2015, David had overseen the operations of Fresh Start and New Beginnings, inclusive of being the main point of contact for all referrals, Contracts/Service Level Agreements, Policy and Procedure development within the organisation and established excellent working relationships with the relevant Social Work Departments, who utilise Fresh Start and New Beginnings, alongside other key stakeholders.

His role over the past 7 years has been the CEO of Fresh Start and continues to be the Owner and Director of New Beginnings.

David has overseen the care delivered by Fresh Start and New Beginnings to more than 300 children/young people who have been placed in the care of Fresh Start and New Beginnings by the HSE/TUSLA.

• All service provision overseen by David has met Registration and Inspection requirements, as required by the HSE and the Department of Health and Children (DoHC).
• David was a member of Social Care Ireland Executive (SCI) from 2011 until 2016, was Chairperson from 2016 through 2022 and is currently the Vice-Chairperson for Social Care Ireland.
• David was the Chairperson of Irish Association of Social Care Management (IASCM) from 2011 to 2014 and continues to sit on the Executive.
