Emmett Tuite – Lecturer TU Dublin

Emmett Tuite a lecturer in TU Dublin for over ten years. Emmett is currently the programme director for Applied Social Care programmes on the Blanchardstown Campus. He lectures in a variety of areas around professional practice, placement preparation and substance misuse/addiction. Emmett also supervises student research. Prior to lecturing, he worked in a wide variety of social care roles including addiction treatment, residential care, aftercare and the prison system.

Emmett’s research interests include substance misuse, gambling behaviour, residential care, resilience and effective teaching and assessment strategies. His undergraduate qualification is in social care and holds an MA (by research) looking at the support needs of prisoners and further post graduate qualifications in University Teaching & Learning & Addiction Studies.

Emmett is currently completing an MSc in Addiction Recovery in Trinity College.  Emmett is always interested in hearing from people who are looking at pursuing further study in the above areas.

In his spare time Emmett enjoys cycling.
