Louis O’Moore – Manager Member of the Board

Louis O’Moore, B. Soc. Sci., commenced his career as a Social Care Worker with Don Bosco House in the voluntary sector of Children’s Residential Services, before working in community based outreach services with Extern Irl. and then Non-statutory Children’s Residential Services with Rainbow Community Services managing an Emergency Respite Residential Service.

Louis joined Daffodil Care as a Social Care Manager in 2012 establishing their first semi-independent Children’s Residential Centre, Hollybrook, in Dublin assisting young people aged 16-19 preparing for aftercare and independent living. Louis was promoted to Operations Manager and later appointed Assistant Director of Service and most recently as Director of Operations overseeing 20 centres including Mainstream, Semi-independent, Aftercare and Disability services.

Louis is also the director of Comet Care Ltd. T/A MCMA providing Health and Social Care staff across the sector. Louis has been an affiliate Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer for the past 15 years and has in excess of 20 years’ experience in the area of social care, both frontline & in management. Louis has held the position of Chairperson of the Irish Association of Social Care Management, a special interest group within Social Care Ireland before becoming a director on the board of Social Care Ireland.

Louis is an active member of the Irish Coast Guard since 2001 providing search, cliff & boat rescue services in North County Dublin.
