La Touche training in collaboration with the Irish Association Of Social care Educators have put this bespoke course together on Fitness to Practice
This training programme covers the following topics:
· What does fitness to practice mean?
· Is it the same as fitness to study?
· Why is fitness to practice so important and why have a FTP Policy?
· What are the key necessary elements of a FTP Policy?
· What do fair procedures mean vis-à-vis your FTP Policy?
· What is required of those individuals who are involved in applying the Policy?
· What do they need to know and me able to do?
· What does a good decision look like and how can it stand up to challenge?
Course attendees will get an opportunity to ask questions to ensure they gain a clear understanding of the significance of their own FTP Policy and the importance of how to apply it correctly so that it is robust and stands up to any challenges.
Facilitator Biography:
Caroline Conroy, B.C.L. is a graduate of University College Cork. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors, Trinity Term 1985 and practiced as a Solicitor specialising in litigation in the firm of Ivor Fitzpatrick & Company Solicitors in Dublin for 5 years specialising in commercial litigation. Caroline has represented her clients in judicial and quasi- judicial for a including courts, tribunals and inquiries.
Caroline is the founder of the leading Irish company, La Touche Training, which she established in Ireland in 1995. She ran the first ever specialised training programme for expert witnesses in Ireland and is now Ireland’s leading specialist trainer in Ireland in training experts about their role and duties; how to write expert witness reports and how to present expert oral evidence.
