CORU Registration

CORU (Health & Social Care Professionals Council) is the body responsible for regulating health and social care professions established under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act, 2005. CORU’s role is to protect the public by promoting high standards of professional conduct, professional education, training and competence amongst Health and Social Care professions.

CORU is currently establishing Registration Boards for twelve professions including Social Care Workers. The Social Care Workers’ Registration Board was established in April 2015; however, as yet, Registration has not opened for Social Care Workers. Registration for Social Care Workers, once opened, will require that any individual wishing to use the title of “Social Care Worker” will be legally required to register with CORU.

Further information on the registration process can be found at www.coru.ie.
