You’re Invited:A Safer Internet for Children and Young People Political Panel Event
Dear Members and Friends,
Over the past year, the Children’s Rights Alliance alongside 18 of our members, have been coordinating a national campaign on children and young people’s safety online – the #123OnlineSafety Campaign. The campaign pushes for key measures for children and young people in the new Online Safety and Media Regulation (OSMR) Bill and beyond.
As part of this work, on 31 May 2022, CRA are convening a political panel discussion on how we can ensure this Bill is fit for purpose, what we need to see from big tech and online platforms operating in Ireland and what needs to happen next to help create a safer online world for children and young people. The event will begin with a briefing on the OSMR Bill, the positive measures and the amendments needed to ensure that truly recognises children and young people’s rights in the digital world. This will be followed by a political panel discussion chaired by former Senator Jillian van Turnhout.
